Why we practice together as men:
As men we gather together to:
explore our deep desires within a community of men
to bring into the light and into awareness something that might be practiced in the dark and without consciousness
to know that we are not alone
to learn from one another
to find the strength of communal energy
Why we practice together while naked:
Our reasons for practising while naked might include:
to see and be seen
to share a naturally truthful practice
to be self accepting
to celebrate our physical bodies
to celebrate and be vulnerable in a safe and secure environment
to celebrate erotic and sexual energy
to provide our good energies to one another and the world we share
About
Kinky PLAY
The first time that I was exposed to the possibility that BDSM and Fantasy play could be presented in a classroom or group environment, I was very dubious. I was worried about several areas that that had produced a sense of anxiety and insecurity within me.
The first and most primary of these insecurities was if I could be myself in a world that seemed to be coded and layered in ways that I did not understand. The first class I attended I was very careful about how I presented myself. I was very afraid of being overwhelmed by a need to conform. This sense of conformity very often made me very angry towards whichever group was pressuring me to conform. I steeled myself and chose clothing and a persona that was strong firm and resolute in my individuality.
The strength of my individuality surprised me and formulated a response from the assembled group, of about 30 men, that also surprised me.
The group gave me respect!
I was shocked. My strength and courage had served me well
The second area to be tested was my ability to express any kind of personal vulnerability and then to trust that my communication would be respected, honoured and followed through on. Again my strength and courage gave me an experience that has informed how I teach and educate all those who attend any of the Kinky PLAY sessions or classes at the Awaken Studio Toronto.
The third area to inform me was: "If you don't ask for what you want , desire and are looking for, you will never get what you want, desire or are looking for!" It took practice to find the place to ask for what I wanted. This practice developed through time and has deeply informed the importance of creating, a safe, sane and consensual environment for all men to explore their deep desires and fantasies. These desires and fantasies often found in the shadows and depth of our very being.
I hope that by practicing together as a community, we can all potentially feel, the excitement of shedding the layers and walls, diving into the depth and the shadow.
That we can communally as a tribe of explorers express our most vulnerable, divine and sacred selves. That within community we can bring our divine natures together as we set aside trauma and guilt and create an environment that is welcoming, safe and secure for all.
AND FINALLY! ALL of THIS PLAY can be FUN!
